An EXIT 31 Production of The Shakespearean Tragedy of Darryl Strawberry & Dwight Gooden. Michael Vechesky of ARTFORCE was proud to play a part as a cinematographer in the making of this great film.

This 85-minute feature length, uniquely styled documentary takes you through the lives of Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden by crossing their stories with those from Shakespeare. The character study features applicable readings from the playwright's works intertwined with comments from sports journalists, including Keith Olbermann, Len Berman and the late Dick Schaap. Topics covered include Gooden's and Strawberry's difficult childhoods in Tampa and Los Angeles, respectively; their meteoric rise and fall with the Mets in the 1980s; their battles with drug addiction and legal troubles; and their resurfacing in the Big Apple as Yankees in the mid-1990s. The film was cut to 46 minutes to run on a hour segment on ESPN in February, 2002.
